Hi!! I am Francesca Costanzo and I completed my job shadowing as part of the FoodBack Project, promoted by Association Kora, at Asociación Brújula Intercultural in Burgos, Spain, and it was an incredibly enriching experience. Over four weeks, I had the opportunity to observe, engage, learn and apply valuable insights that not only strengthened my professional skills but also helped me refine LaVanDino’s marketing and communication strategy.
One of the biggest takeaways was realizing just how important strategic communication is for promoting a sustainable business. Watching Laura Dall’Omo in action gave me a firsthand look at how branding, storytelling, and digital marketing all come together to engage the audience. The personalized workshop on strategic communication helped me understand the importance of having a clear, compelling message—a lesson that will be key in making LaVanDino stand out.
The second week gave me a chance to dive into digital marketing and explore how it could work for LaVanDino. I got to experiment with social media content creation, take a closer look at engagement metrics, and get a better understanding of SEO and audience segmentation. It was interesting to see how these elements come together, and it gave me a clearer idea of how to shape LaVanDino’s online presence to reach festival organizers and eco-conscious event attendees more effectively.
Observing Laura during meetings with stakeholders gave me valuable insight into the importance of clear and effective communication. Watching how she presented ideas and built relationships helped me understand what it takes to convey a vision convincingly. It made me reflect on how I can approach presenting LaVanDino to potential partners and sponsors in a way that is both engaging and aligned with their sustainability goals.
The last week was when everything came together. I worked on a draft communication and marketing plan for LaVanDino and had
the chance to present it to the Brújula Intercultural team for feedback. That session was a highlight for me—it was both nerve-wracking and exciting to put my ideas out there and get constructive input. With Laura’s mentorship, I refined the plan, making sure it had a clear strategy and actionable steps for when I launch the business.
One of the most memorable moments was being able to actively contribute to some of Brújula Intercultural’s initiatives. They gave me the chance to support their work, which allowed me to gain hands-on experience in shaping messaging and outreach strategies.
Beyond all the technical skills I picked up, this experience also gave me a huge confidence boost. I became more comfortable networking, pitching ideas, and communicating my vision—skills that are just as important as knowing how to run a marketing campaign.
Looking back, these four weeks completely transformed how I approach LaVanDino. I now have a solid marketing plan, a clearer brand identity, and a better understanding of how to connect with the right audience. More than anything, I feel ready to take the next steps in turning LaVanDino into a reality. This experience proved that sustainability and business can go hand in hand, and I can’t wait to bring this project to life!
